SUMMARY:Meet Jonah Goldberg
DESCRIPTION:Meet Jonah Goldberg\nLecture and Book Signing \nWednesday\, May 16th at 1:00 p.m. \nFree Event Admission \nAuthor of Suicide of the West: How the Rebirth of Tribalism\, Populism\, Nationalism\, and Identity Politics is Destroying American Democracy \nWith his trademark blend of political history\, social science\, economics\, and pop culture\, two-time NYT bestselling author\, syndicated columnist\, National Review senior editor\, and American Enterprise Institute fellow Jonah Goldberg makes the timely case that America and other democracies are in peril as they lose the will to defend the values and institutions that sustain freedom and prosperity. Instead we are surrendering to populism\, nationalism and other forms of tribalism. \nOnly once in the last 250\,000 years have humans stumbled upon a way to lift ourselves out of the endless cycle of poverty\, hunger\, and war that defines most of history—in 18th century England when we accidentally discovered the miracle of liberal democratic capitalism. \nAs Americans we are doubly blessed that those radical ideas were written into the Constitution\, laying the groundwork for our uniquely prosperous society.\n\nBuy Tickets\nBuy Tickets on Eventbrite

SUMMARY:Meet Dennis Prager
DESCRIPTION:Meet Dennis Prager at the Nixon Library\nLecture and Book Signing \nAuthor of The Rational Bible: Exodus \nWhy do so many people think the Bible\, the most influential book in world history\, is outdated? Why do our friends and neighbors – and sometimes we ourselves – dismiss the Bible as irrelevant\, irrational\, immoral\, or all of these things? This explanation of the Book of Exodus\, the second book of the Bible\, will demonstrate that the Bible is not only powerfully relevant to today’s issues\, but completely consistent with rational thought. \nThe Rational Bible is the fruit of Dennis Prager’s forty years of teaching the Bible to people of every faith\, and no faith. On virtually every page\, you will discover how the text relates to the contemporary world and to your life. \nHis goal: to change your mind – and then change your life. \nREGISTER HERE \nIf you are unable to attend\, click here to order a signed copy and we’ll ship the day after his appearance.

SUMMARY:William F. Buckley and the Presidents - Lecture with Alvin Felzenberg
DESCRIPTION:Alvin Felzenberg\nAuthor of\, “A Man and His Presidents: The Political Odyssey of William F. Buckley\, Jr.” \nFree Event Admission \nWilliam F. Buckley Jr. is widely regarded as the most influential American conservative writer\, activist\, and organizer in the postwar era. In this nuanced biography\, Alvin Felzenberg sheds light on little-known aspects of Buckley’s career\, including his role as back-channel adviser to policy makers\, his intimate friendships and influence with Presidents\, his changing views on civil rights\, and his break with George W. Bush over the Iraq War. \nFelzenberg demonstrates how Buckley conveyed his message across multiple platforms and drew upon his vast network of contacts\, his personal charm\, his extraordinary wit\, and his celebrity status to move the center of political gravity in the United States closer to his point of view. Including many rarely seen photographs\, this account of one of the most compelling personalities of American politics will appeal to conservatives\, liberals\, and even the apolitical. \nAlvin S. Felzenberg served in two presidential administrations and was principal spokesman for the 9/11 Commission. He teaches at the University of Pennsylvania’s Annenberg School for Communication and is the author of The Leaders We Deserved (and a Few We Didn’t). He lives in Washington\, DC. \nREGISTER HERE

SUMMARY:Panel Discussion: Emmett Till
DESCRIPTION:Panel Discussion: Emmett Till\nPanelists:\n \n\nDevery Anderson\, author of Emmett Till: The Murder That Shocked the World and Propelled the Civil Rights Movement\nWheeler Parker\, cousin of Emmett Till and eyewitness to Till’s kidnapping\nAlex Foster\, executive producer of the upcoming mini series based on Anderson’s book\nFrank Gannon (moderator)\, former White House Special Assistant to President Nixon\n\nDevery Anderson offers the first truly comprehensive account of the 1955 murder and its aftermath. \nIt tells the story of Emmett Till\, the fourteen-year-old African American boy from Chicago brutally lynched for a harmless flirtation at a country store in the Mississippi Delta. Anderson utilizes documents that had never been available to previous researchers\, such as the trial transcript\, long-hidden depositions by key players in the case\, and interviews given by Carolyn Bryant to the FBI in 2004 (her first in fifty years)\, as well as other recently revealed FBI documents. Anderson also interviewed family members of the accused killers\, most of whom agreed to talk for the first time\, as well as several journalists who covered the murder trial in 1955. \nThis book will stand as the definitive work on Emmett Till for years to come. \nREGISTER HERE

SUMMARY:Meet Lee Edwards
DESCRIPTION:FREE EVENT ADMISSION \nLecture and Book Signing \nAuthor of Just Right: A Life in Pursuit of Liberty \nLee Edwards is the preeminent historian of the conservative movement. But as this riveting memoir makes clear\, he has not simply observed conservatism as a detached scholar; he has been active on the national stage longer than any other conservative in America.\nSince committing his life to pro-freedom and anticommunist efforts as a young man in 1956\, he has been present at nearly every major event of the modern conservative movement. In his tireless pursuit of liberty\, Dr. Edwards has combined politics\, policy\, and philosophy.\nLee Edwards’s memoir appears at a critical time in the history of American conservatism. In an inspiring final chapter aimed at the rising generation\, Dr. Edwards shows how conservatives can remain a major political and philosophical force in America. \nHe is the distinguished fellow in conservative thought at The Heritage Foundation\, is a leading historian of American conservatism and the author or editor of 25 books.

SUMMARY:Meet Robert O'Neill
DESCRIPTION:Meet Robert O’Neill at the Nixon Library \nLecture and Book Signing \nA stirringly evocative\, thought-provoking\, and often jaw-dropping account\, The Operator ranges across SEAL Team Operator Robert O’Neill’s awe-inspiring four-hundred-mission career\, which included his involvement in attempts to rescue “Lone Survivor” Marcus Luttrell and abducted-by-Somali-pirates Captain Richard Phillips and which culminated in those famous three shots that dispatched the world’s most wanted terrorist\, Osama bin Laden. \nIn these pages\, O’Neill describes his idyllic childhood in Butte\, Montana; his impulsive decision to join the SEALs; the arduous evaluation and training process; and the even tougher gauntlet he had to run to join the SEALs’ most elite unit. After officially becoming a SEAL\, O’Neill would spend more than a decade in the most intense counterterror effort in US history. For extended periods\, not a night passed without him and his small team recording multiple enemy kills—and though he was lucky enough to survive\, several of the SEALs he’d trained with and fought beside never made it home. \nThe Operator describes the nonstop action of O’Neill’s deployments in Iraq and Afghanistan\, evokes the black humor of years-long combat\, brings to vivid life the lethal efficiency of the military’s most selective units\, and reveals firsthand details of the most celebrated terrorist takedown in history. \nREGISTER HERE \nIf you cannot attend\, but want autographed copies of the book click here to order and we’ll ship the day after his appearance.
