DESCRIPTION:His Imperial Highness Reza Pahlavi will receive the Richard Nixon Foundation’s Architect of Peace Award on October 22\, 2024 at the Richard Nixon Presidential Library and Museum in Yorba Linda\, California. \nThe Empress –in exile since the Islamic Revolution of 1979– and her son\, the Crown Prince have each devoted more than 40 years to championing religious freedom in Iran\, advocating for a democratic form of government backed by popular vote\, and bringing attention to myriad ongoing human rights abuses in Iran. \nThe Award also recognizes the long relationship between Mohammad Reza Shah Pahlavi and President Richard Nixon. SUMMARY:Book Talk: The Conservative Environmentalist
DESCRIPTION:Book Talk: The Conservative Environmentalist \nTuesday\, August 27\, 2024 \nRichard Nixon Presidential Library and Museum \nFree Admission \nDuring his first State of the Union address\, delivered in 1970\, President Nixon designated the environment as the defining issue of the new decade. “The great question of the Seventies is…shall we make our peace with nature and begin to make reparations for the damage we have done to our air\, to our land\, and to our water\,” he declared. In a divided political climate\, Nixon went on to achieve bipartisan support to become the creator of modern environmental policy and created the Environmental Protection Agency. \nFive decades later\, the environment remains a key issue in America.  \nBenji Backer is the Executive Chairman and Founder of the American Conservation Coalition (ACC)\, the largest right-of-center environmental organization in the country\, and the author of The Conservative Environmentalist: Common Sense Solutions for a Sustainable Future.  \nIn The Conservative Environmentalist\, Backer delivers an entirely new strategy to take care of the planet while putting the economic interest of the American people first. Drawing on cutting-edge science\, a deep understanding of local community needs\, and his experience rallying politicians on both sides of the aisle to take action\, Backer offers hope for everyone who cares about the state of the great outdoors. \n \n Register Here
