SUMMARY:Meet Andrew Puzder\, former CEO Carl's Jr.
DESCRIPTION:Meet Andrew Puzder\nFormer CEO of Carl’s\, Jr. \nLecture and Book Signing \nAuthor of The Capitalist Comeback: The Trump Boom and the Left’s Plot to Stop It \nAndy Puzder\, the former CEO of Carl’s Jr. and Hardee’s\, says that “capitalism” is not a dirty word\, and thankfully President Trump understands this; his pro-business policies will bring back economic growth and secure our future. \nAs a successful CEO in the restaurant industry\, Andy Puzder uniquely understands how important the profit motive is to our country’s ultimate prosperity. Furthermore\, as the grandson of immigrants\, the son of a car salesman\, and someone who worked his way up from earning minimum wage to running an international business\, he has a first-hand view of how America’s exceptional capitalist spirit can lift everyone to success. \nPuzder argues in his new book\, THE CAPITALIST COMEBACK\, that increasingly irrelevant left wing forces have launched an all out assault on a pro-business president in the White House. From its roots in the Progressive Era to labor unions to education to entertainment to its political resurgence with avowed socialist candidates such as Bernie Sanders\, Puzder traces the development of the anti-profit forces in the United States and shows how\, under President Trump\, they can be vanquished for good. \nREGISTER HERE \nIf you are unable to attend\, click here to order a signed copy and we’ll ship the day after his appearance.

SUMMARY:Congressman James Rogan
DESCRIPTION:Former Congressman James Rogan\nAuthor of On to Chicago: Rediscovering Robert F. Kennedy and the Lost Campaign of 1968 \nThe 1968 election was—and remains— spellbinding. \nUnlike modern presidential campaigns\, where a dozen or more unknowns vie for debate stage sound bites\, that year nine titans battled for the presidency. \nFifty years later\, most people are unaware that in a single race former Vice President Richard Nixon\, California Governor Ronald Reagan\, President Lyndon Johnson\, Senator Robert F. Kennedy\, New York Governor Nelson Rockefeller\, Senator Eugene McCarthy\, Vice President Hubert Humphrey\, former Alabama Governor George Wallace\, and Michigan Governor George Romney all squared off for the White House. \nThe shocking assassination of Robert Kennedy on the night of his California primary victory left a gaping hole in history. and for five decades left this unanswered question: What if? \nREGISTER HERE

SUMMARY:Meet Jonah Goldberg
DESCRIPTION:Meet Jonah Goldberg\nLecture and Book Signing \nWednesday\, May 16th at 1:00 p.m. \nFree Event Admission \nAuthor of Suicide of the West: How the Rebirth of Tribalism\, Populism\, Nationalism\, and Identity Politics is Destroying American Democracy \nWith his trademark blend of political history\, social science\, economics\, and pop culture\, two-time NYT bestselling author\, syndicated columnist\, National Review senior editor\, and American Enterprise Institute fellow Jonah Goldberg makes the timely case that America and other democracies are in peril as they lose the will to defend the values and institutions that sustain freedom and prosperity. Instead we are surrendering to populism\, nationalism and other forms of tribalism. \nOnly once in the last 250\,000 years have humans stumbled upon a way to lift ourselves out of the endless cycle of poverty\, hunger\, and war that defines most of history—in 18th century England when we accidentally discovered the miracle of liberal democratic capitalism. \nAs Americans we are doubly blessed that those radical ideas were written into the Constitution\, laying the groundwork for our uniquely prosperous society.\n\nBuy Tickets\nBuy Tickets on Eventbrite

SUMMARY:Meet Dennis Prager
DESCRIPTION:Meet Dennis Prager at the Nixon Library\nLecture and Book Signing \nAuthor of The Rational Bible: Exodus \nWhy do so many people think the Bible\, the most influential book in world history\, is outdated? Why do our friends and neighbors – and sometimes we ourselves – dismiss the Bible as irrelevant\, irrational\, immoral\, or all of these things? This explanation of the Book of Exodus\, the second book of the Bible\, will demonstrate that the Bible is not only powerfully relevant to today’s issues\, but completely consistent with rational thought. \nThe Rational Bible is the fruit of Dennis Prager’s forty years of teaching the Bible to people of every faith\, and no faith. On virtually every page\, you will discover how the text relates to the contemporary world and to your life. \nHis goal: to change your mind – and then change your life. \nREGISTER HERE \nIf you are unable to attend\, click here to order a signed copy and we’ll ship the day after his appearance.

SUMMARY:Collegiate Forum: The Rise of Artificial Intelligence
DESCRIPTION:Collegiate Forum: The Rise of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Fall of the White Collar\nFREE EVENT ADMISSION \nTopic: The rise of AI will lead to the reduction of white collar and professional positions. How will this affect today’s millennial careers\, college degrees\, and the reaction of public policy? \nDiscussion: AI is more than self-driving cars. It is an amalgamation of computer programs that can replace the most educated professionals from radiologists\, to patent lawyers\, to finance administrators. AI makes obsolete the professional and corporate functions that are rules-based. This will change college degrees in finance\, law\, and medicine\, for example\, which were thought “reliable” to produce well paying and secure careers.\nHow will the rise of AI affect today’s college graduates\, curriculum\, and public policy? \nThe Nixon Foundation in collaboration with US Vigilance will bring together top students from California’s preeminent colleges and universities for the fourth Collegiate Forum which will prompt a timely competition of ideas concerning a few pressing issues which face the Millennial generation. \nREGISTER HERE
