DESCRIPTION:The Nixon Seminar on Conservative Realism and National Security will convene for its final program on Tuesday\, June 4\, 2024\, at 5:00 PM PT with co-chairs Ambassador Robert C. O’Brien and Secretary Mike Pompeo\, and special guest Stephen Hadley\, the 20th National Security Adviser\, who served President George W. Bush. Mary Kissel\, former senior advisor to Secretary Pompeo and Nixon Seminar member\, will moderate the discussion. Secretary Pompeo and Stephen Hadley will be participating virtually. \nFor this final gathering\, Seminar Members will reflect on\, examine and consider the effects of Richard Nixon’s foreign policy\, and apply lessons learned to today’s myriad global challenges. DESCRIPTION:Within days of closing the Nixon Library to the public due to COVID-19 in March 2020\, the White House East Room\, known for its once-active programming and frequent events\, became a center for much-needed blood donations. \nSince then\, the Foundation has hosted over 40 blood drives\, resulting in over 1\,700 usable units of blood and potentially 5\,100 lives saved. \nThe Richard Nixon Foundation intends to continue these popular and meaningful blood drives as long as the shortage continues. \nThis blood drive is presented in partnership with the American Red Cross. \nThe blood drive will take place Monday\, May 13 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. \n			\n				Sign Up

DESCRIPTION:Tuesday\, January 23 \nWilliam Y Arcuri \nFormer American POW from the Vietnam War \n6:00 PM – Reception \n7:00 PM – Event Start \nWilliam Arcuri was born in Tallahassee\, Florida and raised in an Air Force family. Bill attended the USAF Academy Preparatory School prior to attending West Point. Bill graduated from the United States Military Academy at West Point in June 1970. He was commissioned a 2LT in the US Air Force and attended Graduate Pilot Training at Moody AFB\, GA and received his Pilot wings in July 1971. He was assigned to the 744th Bomb Squadron\, Beale AFB\, CA as a SAC B52G Co-Pilot. \nBill flew the B52G from Andersen AFB\, Guam in support of Line Backer I/II from May 1972 to December 1972. He was flying his 44th mission when his aircraft was shot down on December 20th\, 1972 over Yin Ven\, North Vietnam and captured and interned in the Hanoi Hilton. As a result of injuries\, Bill was released in the first group of POWs on February 12\, 1973. \nBill later upgraded to Aircraft Commander in the B52G and served as an Officer Controller in the SAC Command Post at Beale AFB.
